OUR COURSES

1:1 and GROUP courses available!

Here you have a selection of our 1-to-1 and group courses. They all include access to our Minecraft server, game-based learning materials and tutoring with a qualified tutor.

If you are interested in the Master MINER courses we recommend you book it alongside the PILLAGER, VILLAGER, or BUILDER course to provide 2 hours of sessions a week, one for language acquisition and the other for language practice.

How does it work?

  • Individual or small groups (6 max)
  • 50 minute weekly or one-off sessions, your choice!
  • Native and ESL qualified teachers
  • A variety of activities, some competitive, some collaborative
  • Supporting downloadable materials included
  • Emphasis on fluency and communication

What you will need to be able to attend a Crafting LinGO! session:

  • A PC or laptop
  • A Minecraft License installed on that laptop/PC [Minecraft for Windows/Bedrock. JAVA only available for 1-to-1 courses] (you can buy a full license or sign up to the PC Game Pass from the Microsoft/Xbox store that gives you access to many games besides Minecraft)
  • A stable internet connection (>5Mbps)
  • A headset to facilitate listening and speaking.
  • (Optional) A second screen/device to be able to see the videoconference and listen to the other students and teacher without losing the Minecraft screen.

You can go to the courses menu and select as many courses and options as you want.

Once you have paid for the course you will receive a confirmation email requesting you fill in a form with some more details.

A week prior to the first lesson you will receive another email with;

      1. the log-on details for our connection test server, and the activity server, with a visual guide explaining how to log in
      2. the videoconference link which we will use to communicate (note Minecraft only has text chat)
      3. the rules all participants must follow to be able to attend the sessions
      4. any supporting materials in digital format that might be needed for the session.

On the day of the first session we recommend students are ready 15 minutes prior to the start of the session.

We will open a videoconference and will provide support to log on to the server if there are any issues. We will also discuss any relevant points regarding the session.

We will need you to run the videoconference alongside the game so we can talk to you.

We will use the videoconference video and audio to guide the activities.

We do not require parents or guardians to be present for the sessions, but they are welcome to be there if they wish to do so. We only ask that they do not ‘give the answers’ or too many prompts, allowing the student to learn through ‘trial and error’ if necessary. This is a safe place where we can all make mistakes!! You cannot ‘break’ the game, so don’t worry. If there is anything outstanding we will provide feedback after the session if we feel it is needed.
